CLINICALLY TESTED
UC-II® Undenatured Type II Collagen
UC-II is the main ingredient in M Drive Joint. It is a standardized source of undenatured type II collagen. Type II collagen is the main component of articular cartilage. UC-II is not absorbed into the body, but binds to the surface of a specific part of the lower intestine where it triggers an immune response which stops the body from attacking and breaking down healthy cartilage. Denatured type II collagen does not show this type of effect, but rather is utilized only as a nutrient by the body.
What Is Undenatured Type II Collagen?
Undenatured type II collagen is a protein found in the human body: cartilage, bone, and other connective tissues.
There is some research that suggests type II collagen triggers the body to produce chemicals that can diminish joint pain and swelling.
Why We Use UC-II Undenatured Type II Collagen
UC-II collagen is a patented type of collagen sourced from chicken sternums. It contains active immunity modulators that can help signal your body to rebuild and repair joint cartilage. It also appears in the same tissues in animals (like cows and chickens).
This type of collagen is especially helpful at combating joint pain, and UC-II specifically has shown in scientific studies to significantly reduce joint pain after physical activity and increase joint flexibility over time.
